This Year’s Geneva Motor Show

Car enthusiast like me, though I’ll always have my baby anytime of the day, is always on the lookout for the latest anything on cars. Thank goodness for motor shows like the ones that Geneva Motor Shows pulls off every year, they bring the world’s major car brands, their latest’s new cars and concepts to our attention.

We get to sniff off what’s hot right away. Having said that, the Honda Civic Type-R, Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6, Audi R8, Kia Sportspace and Vauxhall Viva, which is the Geneva’s stars, totally owned the spotlight on the night of the show.

6. CADILLAC

Plus it also comes with heated and cooled front leather seats and heated second-row leather, not to mention a host of other luxury features.

7. CHEVROLET

CAMARO Z/28: Starting at $73,300, you’ll be rolling with Street legal and track-ready, a lighter version of the sports car with a 7-liter, 505 horsepower V-8.

COLORADO: Get the show on the road with this more refined, quieter smaller truck with a performance of a full-sized one.  Equipped with six-speed automatic transmissions; two- or four-wheel drive, two aluminum-block engines, 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower, for the first year, while a diesel engine comes in the second. Your $20,995 including shipping won’t hurt that much.

CORVETTE ZO6: Wherever you are, as long as you can shell out $78,995, including destination charge, you’ll be able to get your hands on this  racetrack-ready supercar with a supercharged 6.2-liter, 650-horsepower V-8 with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

SILVERADO HD: Starts at $32,405, this 6.6-liter diesel engine, 3,760 pounds carrying capacity, standard 6-liter 360 horsepower V-8 and a six-speed automatic transmission can be yours.

SUBURBAN: For $48,590 including shipping, it’s like getting a long version of the Chevy SUV but with the same features as the Tahoe. Bonus feature: Up to 9 seating capacity and a bigger cargo area.

TAHOE: This ride right here comes with three rows of seats for seven to nine people and comes standard with a 5.3-liter, 355-horsepower V-8 with a six-speed automatic transmission, an estimated 23 mpg on the highway, for just $46,885 including shipping. And oh yeah, it’s been on sale for up 18 percent since last spring. You don’t wanna miss that!

TRAX: Considering that this is equipped with standard keyless entry, standard rear-view camera and optional 4G cellular and WiFi hotspot capability, 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower, and six-speed automatic transmission, you’re still up for a treat. 

8. CHRYSLER

300: I know, I know… but if they’re waiting until November to release the details at the Los Angeles Auto Show, don’t you think you’re up for a big surprise? 

200: To ease the suspense, you’re getting all the sleek details on this one.  For starters, you get to choose from a new 184-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder, and a 295-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engines. Plus a nine-speed automatic transmission and technology that shuts off the engine at stop lights for the models with 2.4-liter engines.  Base price is $22,695 including shipping.

9. DODGE

CHALLENGER: You can give it a double take all you want but I still don’t change the fact that you got a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. Hellcat that starts at $59,995, its coming this fall so you might wanna start saving up.

CHARGER: If Chrysler is right on their claims, you’ll be driving the most powerful and fastest sedan on the market because of its supercharged Hemi V-8 for only $27,990 including destination. Fingers crossed.

10. FERRARI

CALIFORNIA T: Turbocharged V8, 3.9-liter V8 produces 552 horsepower, mated with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Result? A maximum speed of 196 mph and a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds. One word: Ferrari.

Roll In 2015 With A Bang! New Cars Coming Your Way!

As a response to the booming car sales in the U.S. major manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes and Tesla have come out with new entries for 2015. With these new entries, car grooming in Singapore will surely be in chaos anytime soon. Let’s take a peek at what these new releases are made of!

1. ACURA

TLX: This ride with two 2.4-liter powertrain, 206-horsepower, four-cylinder engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.5-liter, 290-horsepower V6 with a nine-speed automatic that starts with a price tag of $31,890 including shipping is Honda’s replacement for the TSX and TL.

2. ALFA ROMEO

4C: This one that starts at $53,900 is Handmade in Modena, Italy, carbon fiber components and all aluminum engine, a 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, 240 horsepower, six-speed automatic dual clutch transmission. This comeback brand sure sounds good right?

3. AUDI

A3: Starting at $30,795 including shipping is this 1.8-liter and 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, panoramic glass sunroof and xenon headlights standard. Plus it has a new look to suit the taste of Americans when it comes to cars.

A8: The exterior of this one didn’t just get redesigned with improved powertrains; it also comes with night vision assistant and technology that will help keep you in lane lines. You also get to enjoy a 420-435 horsepower if you choose to have the 4-liter V8. Or if you want, the updated S8 high-performance version is also already available as long as you have a $78,325 to start with. 

Q3: At $33,495 starting price including shipping, you get a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 200 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission are standard, low roof line and wraparound tailgate, coupe-like design and agility with the utility of an SUV for a premium small crossover SUV. 

4. BENTLEY

CONTINENTAL GT3-R:  With a 0-60 mph speed of 3.6 seconds and the 220 pounds cut from it, this is now the fastest accelerating Bentley. A retuned version of the Continental GT's 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 of this is also available, which allows you to enjoy 50 more horsepower for a total of 572. When that much power isn’t exactly necessary, it switches back to four cylinders.  Interested? Be ready to drop a $337,000 price and you might want to go get one right this second because there will be 300 of this available globally. 

5. BMW

4 SERIES GRAN COUPE: Doors like the 3 series but design and roof of the 4 series. This coupe that starts with $41,225 is mated to an eight-speed sport automatic transmission whether it’s the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 240 horsepower, which gets 34 mpg on the highway or the 3.0-liter inline 6 with 300 horsepower that gets 32 mpg on the highway. 

i3: Compact four-seater, blunted, blacked-out hood and a jumble of angled windows in the rear, 50% lighter carbon fiber, and powered by a 22-kwh lithium-ion battery and a 170-horsepower motor, and gets 80 to 100 miles on a charge. Our guy right here starts at $42,275, including destination, while the range extender version starts at $46,125.

i8: Six-speed automatic transmission and a top speed of 155 mph A turbocharged three-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine works with the electric motor to give the car 357 horsepower and 0-60 acceleration of 4.2 seconds. Not only that, it’s also fuel-friendly needing only 76 mpg equivalent. You want it? Get it at $135,700 starting price.

M3 SEDAN/M4 COUPE: For these, you get a carbon-fiber roof and an all-new inline-6 engine, more powerful than the V8 in the previous version, just lighter. Plus a 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and can go from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Not to forget that they are either in seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. Get them at $62,925 and $65,125 respectively, destination fees included.

X4: For $45,625 starting price, you’ll be enjoying a four-door, low-roof, 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 240 horsepower on the xDrive28i or a 3.0-liter inline-6 with 300 horsepower with a eight-speed automatic transmission to either engines.

Check your tire pressures regularly - once a week is ideal. Bad tire pressures can affect fuel economy, handling and comfort. It's easy to do and there is no excuse not to.
